CISG online was first developed and launched in spring 1995 by Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Peter Schlechtriem, M.C.L. and his staff at the Institute of Foreign and International Private Law (Dept. I) of the Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg i. Br., Germany. In 2002, the website migrated to its current address at cisg-online.ch and since that time has been run by Professor Dr. Ingeborg Schwenzer, LL.M. at the Law Faculty of the University of Basel, Switzerland.
