Mohamed Hafez is an Egyptian
national, who obtained his LL.B from the Faculty of Law (English Department) at
Cairo University in 2003. He subsequently obtained his LL.M from Queen Mary & Westfield
College, University of London
in 2005, with a specialization in Commercial Corporate Law and International
Commercial Arbitration.
Before joining Professor Schwenzer’s
chair at the University
of Basel, Mohamed had worked
at the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA)
since October 2005. While there he acted
as Legal Counsellor, Legal Researcher and Rapporteur in several conferences and
seminars held under the auspices of CRCICA. Mohamed has also participated in
the UNCITRAL CLOUT Project.
Mohamed is a native Arabic speaker, and
is fluent in English. He also has basic French. Mohamed’s doctoral thesis focuses on the
modern sales law in Arab countries.
